LEGO retirements in 2026: FAQ

What does "retiring soon" mean for a LEGO set?

LEGO labels a set "Retiring soon" on LEGO.com when it plans to stop producing it. The set stays on sale until stock runs out or LEGO removes it, then it's gone from official stores for good.

When exactly do these LEGO sets retire?

LEGO doesn't publish exact dates. Most sets retire at the end of July or the end of December, but some go earlier if they sell out. BricksValue checks LEGO.com every day and marks a set as retired as soon as it disappears.

Should I buy a LEGO set before it retires?

If you want it, yes: once a set retires, new copies are only available from resellers, often above the original price. Retiring sets are also sometimes discounted, so compare the current price with the regular price shown on each set.

Can a retired LEGO set come back?

Rarely. LEGO sometimes re-releases a popular model as a new, updated set with a different number, but the original set itself usually doesn't return.
