FAQ

LEGO prices and retirements, answered

When do LEGO sets retire?

Most LEGO sets stay on sale for somewhere between 18 months and three years, and most retire at the end of July or the end of December. LEGO doesn’t publish a full schedule in advance, but it flags some sets as “Retiring soon” on LEGO.com shortly before they go.

How can I tell if a LEGO set is retiring soon?

Look for the “Retiring soon” label on LEGO.com Australia. BricksValue lists every set carrying it, 321 right now, with the best current price for each, so you don’t have to check set by set.

Where is LEGO cheapest in Australia?

It depends on the set. We compare LEGO.com Australia, Amazon.com.au, Target, Big W, Kmart, Myer, Toyworld, Build & Play and Bricks Megastore every day; each set page shows them side by side, lowest price first.

Do retired LEGO sets go up in value?

Often, but not always. Once a set is no longer produced, the supply of new, sealed copies only shrinks, and popular sets from big themes have historically sold above their original price. Plenty of sets don’t, so look at real sold prices before buying anything to resell.

Is BricksValue affiliated with LEGO?

No. BricksValue is an independent site. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site.

Is BricksValue free?

Yes. Some links to stores may be affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes the prices we show or the order we show them in.
